On the topic of imagination, although getting lost in it can definitely be detrimental, I think it can also be useful to exercise it so it doesn't become dull, just as it's useful to exercise memory and logical thinking for the same reason.
I feel similarly about the efficacious use of the imagination, similar to honing one's mental capacities. All it comes down to is how to properly transfigure such activities towards a positive end, because if one leave's one mind unguarded then all manner of afflictions can plague it and one's spiritual life by proxy.
